Pat is a native to the Washington D.C. area who has had extensive civil litigation experience over the past 35 years. His area of expertise include serious automobile and trucking negligence, premise liability, fire cause/origin, wrongful death, and medical negligence. He has particular interest in litigating the rights of traumatic brain injury clients.

Pat has significant experience in fire cause/origin and severe scalding cases. One of Pat’s Maryland appellate decisions clarified the extent of notice required to trigger a landlords duty to respond to potential fire hazards. Pat has obtained substantial awards for fire victims that have involved detailed investigations and the sifting of evidence in often destroyed fire settings.

Pat has also regularly advised transportation management clients. He has guided transportation fleet owners through insurance regulatory matters and assisted in the development of risk management protocols. He has also litigated matters involving the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

In addition, Pat specializes in the unique details of insurance law and has been involved in complex insurance coverage disputes. He is also engaged in an active Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice and has mediated and arbitrated many civil cases. His experience includes both plaintiff and defense representation, giving him a full perspective of both sides.

Pat is a meticulous and thorough researcher, known for his painstaking efforts to uncover seemingly minute evidence which often plays a major role in the outcome of a case, and works exceptionally well with witnesses. Patrick has also developed a reputation for being passionate and patient in building cases. He has a deep and abiding commitment to clear, accurate and effective communication with clients and believes strongly in giving clients an exact and understandable assessment of their respective cases.

An advocate for literacy, Pat is a board member of the Youth Leadership Foundation which is a non-for-profit organization mentoring students in English and Math in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
